HEAVENLY PATRON SAINT: Our lady of Fatima

The Nurses Ministry in Australia had a very humble beginning in 2013, when a group of nurses in Adelaide, with an ardent desire to touch the lives of other nurses, started to get together and intercede for all the nurses in Australia.

Heaven answered their prayers and in 2018, in collaboration with the international nurses; ministry, the Nurses Ministry in Australia was officially inaugurated, under the guidance and blessings of Most Rev. Bishop Bosco Puthur, the Bishop of the Syro Malabar Eparchy in Melbourne. The Nurses Ministry in Australia currently has groups in 32 parishes within six different states of Australia and the two mainland territories, the ACT & Northern Territory. Fr Abraham Nadukunnel is the spiritual director of the Nurses Ministry in Australia.

The service teams meet regularly and are responsible for planning the activities, formation programmes and workshops for the ministry. Intercession is the powerhouse of the nurse’s ministry and the national, state and parish intercession coordinators play a very vital role in fuelling the powerhouse. Hence on the 13th of every month, globally, all the members of the nurse’s ministry join for a 24-hour chain rosary. Nurse’s ministry members also have night vigils every 4 months, conducted via Zoom, which is a night of great blessing as testified by the members of the ministry.

Inspired by the presence and guidance of Victorian Nurse’s Ministry Service Team, the Bendigo Nurse’s Ministry was inaugurated in August 2022, with the blessings of Fr. Varghese Vithayathil.

On October 10th 2022, a service team was formed to lead the ministry in Bendigo under the guidance and formation provided by Br Josemon, an international resource person.

Since its inception, the ministry has been actively involved in various spiritual activities, including praise and worship sessions and meetings held every second Tuesdays of the month. Members also intercede through daily prayers and attend Holy Mass during weekdays. Also, during

The Lenten season and Holy Weeks, members join via zoom with international team for Bible reading, and the Way of the Cross. Additionally, a 24-hour chain rosary is organized every 13th of the month.
