Mathruvedi

Mathruvedi is an organization for mothers. In 2015 the synod of Bishops rechristened Mathruvedi with the motto “Mother the protector of life and the light of family”.

Our Blessed Mother Mary is the patroness of Mathruvedi. The organisation was created in the parish with the goal of revitalising families via mothers and guiding the community in a life deeply rooted in catholic faith.

Fr Varghese Vithayathil MST officially launched Mathruvedi Bendigo in 2021, establishing a forum for mothers in the Church community.

Women are constantly a fragrant candle and a beacon of hope in their homes, churches, and communities. Mathruvedi brought the community's mothers together to strengthen their spirituality and encourage religious advancement via prayer. By incorporating Mathruvedi members into all activities, the church assumes a more maternal role. Church decorations, church fundraisers through homemade food sales, and Mother's Day celebrations are just a few examples.

Members actively participate in spiritual activities led by the parish priest. Mathruvedi kindly invites all mothers to participate in this spiritual journey by contributing their love, care, prayer, and valuable presence. Let our Mother Mary lead us to eternal light.
